Headteacher’s Welcome

Welcome to Newton Bluecoat Church of England Primary School

Welcome to Newton Bluecoat C E Primary and Nursery School. We aim to create a secure and happy school  where children can develop lively and enquiring minds, in a safe, stimulating and secure environment. We take great care to treat each child as an individual member of the school family and encourage everyone to aim for excellence, aspiring to reach their full potential. We aim to develop an awareness of Christian values, and place emphasis on our children being caring and polite members of the local and wider community.

We strive to provide an excellent education for all our pupils within a caring, stimulating and motivating learning environment. To help us achieve this aim staff, governors and parents work in close partnership together with added support from the Diocese of Blackburn and the local parish church of St. John, Lund. Being a Church of England school, our ethos is embedded in Christian values which underpin all areas of school life.

Our school is a happy, thriving primary school for children aged 3-11 years old. There are approximately 220 children on roll in seven classes. In addition to our well qualified teaching staff we have a number of excellent learning support assistants who work across the school supporting and enhancing children’s learning where necessary.

We hope that this tells you all you need to know.  But don’t simply take our word for it – come and see for yourself. We would be delighted to show you around the school in session.

We have nursery facilities with morning and afternoon sessions (lunch provision too) and superb before and after school clubs on the premises providing wraparound care between 7:35 am and 5:30pm.

We currently have space in our nursery for pupils aged 3 or 4 years.
